This advanced course is designed for highly experienced mechanics seeking to deepen their knowledge and skills in the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.

Through a combination of theoretical lessons and practical hands-on sessions, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of pump principles, advanced maintenance techniques, and troubleshooting strategies.

Target Audience:

Experienced mechanics with a strong background in pump operations and maintenance, including those working in industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environments.

  • Hands-on demonstration of centrifugal pump disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
  • Overhauling centrifugal pumps: complete disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques for centrifugal pumps

Day 4: Advanced Positive Displacement Pump Operations

  • Advanced principles of positive displacement pump operation
  • Specialized positive displacement pump types and applications
  • Hands-on session: advanced positive displacement pump operation scenarios.

 

Day 5: Advanced Positive Displacement Pump Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Advanced maintenance tasks specific to positive displacement pumps
  • Troubleshooting complex issues in positive displacement pumps
  • Hands-on session: advanced maintenance and troubleshooting exercises

 

Course Plan & Execution strategy

  1. Pumps: Actual centrifugal and positive displacement pumps for demonstration and hands-on practice will be provided.
  2. Toolkits: Basic and specialized tools required for pump disassembly, assembly, and maintenance (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) will be provided.
  3. Safety Equipment: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection to be worn by trainer and participants
  4. Training Materials: All participants will be given access to Trainhub where all digital copies of training materials will be accessed including software and videos. Printed materials covering pump operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures will also be provided.
  5. Space for Hands-On Sessions: A suitable workshop or training area with tables, benches, and adequate lighting for practical sessions to be provided.
  6. Simulation Equipment: Pump simulation equipment or software for virtual practice will be provided for further practice.
  7. Training Models: Cutaway models or diagrams of pumps for better understanding of internal components and operation (optional).
  8. Fluids and Lubricants: Hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and cleaning agents for maintenance activities to be provided.
  9. Safety Signs and Posters: Signs and posters highlighting safety instructions and procedures will be included in the training materials.
  10. Evaluation Tools: Trainhub contains all assessments tracker including scores from the hands-on assessment. These will be used to gauge understanding and skills.
  11. Instructor: Our experienced instructors or trainers with expertise in pump operations and maintenance will be available throughout the session.
  12. Certificates: Certificates of completion for participants who successfully finish the training will be automatically available on Trainhub and hard copies mailed to client
  13. Feedback Forms: Forms for participants to provide feedback on the training content and delivery will be generated on Trainhub and delivered to client.
  14. Refreshments: Refreshments and snacks for participants during breaks.
